Texas Adventure Recommendations from Outside Insiders.
What to do at Colorado Bend
The popular Gorman Falls is just the tip of the iceberg. Colorado Bend has more adventure packed-in than any park in Texas. It's wild and remote, and abundant water makes it a year-round destination.
What to do at Inks Lake
Inks Lake State Park might be the best car-camping in central Texas. Swimming from your campsite makes even the hottest nights bearable. Great spot for a chill weekend with small hikes, cliff-jumping, and paddling adventures.
What to do at Garner
Perhaps the most popular and well known Texas State Park, and for good reason. 3 miles of the clean and clear Frio River winds through limestone hills making for great swimming, hiking, and paddling. In the late 1930’s, the CCC developed the park’s picnic tables, cabins, and the dance terrace - a fun scene on Summer nights.
