What to do at Colorado Bend
Colorado Bend in a Tweet - The popular Gorman Falls is just the tip of the iceberg. Colorado Bend has more adventure packed-in than any park in Texas. It's wild and remote, and abundant water makes it a year-round destination.
Must-Do Experiences
Just a half-mile from the campground is the beautiful natural Spicewood Springs pools
Check-out the great views up the Spicewood Canyon Trail and back down Spicewood Springs for some swimming - 3 miles and maybe better than Gorman Falls? Perhaps.
The Hike to Gorman Falls is popular - plan for it to be an unexpectedly long, hot 3-mile round trip.
Add a few miles to your Gorman Falls hike with a side trip to Tie Slide Overlook
Hard to go wrong hangout-out in the river or getting-in some paddling.
Overnight Lodging
Campsites 18 - 25 are super short walk-in sites with river access.
The Windmill primitive camping area is a quick option for a backpacking trip.
9 Minutes - Barefoot Camp - “We loved the riverside primitive camping spots and how spacious the sites are between one another. Restrooms and showers were all working and clean. And the hosts are great people! Only 15 minutes from Colorado Bend State Park. There's a cute General Store that has a restaurant and live music right outside of the entrance to this Park.”
28 Minutes - Check-out the AirBnBs in surprisingly hip San Saba, TX
